I use them in my RV. One attaches magnetically to the underside of the hood - this light is MUCH, much brighter than the built-in light. I make sure to turn it off after I'm done cooking and while the battery lasts a couple of weeks. One problem is that if I forget to turn it off for an hour or so, it loses brightness fairly quickly. I thought I had killed the batteries, but after turning it off for a few hours it seemed to recover and come back bright the next time I used it. Not sure what's wrong with that. Now I have two ready for the kitchen in case I forget to turn one off after use. I use two more in each of the pitch dark closets above the bedside tables in the bedroom - they illuminate the inside of the closet like daylight! The ones I attached to the side of the closet wall with Command Strip Velcro so I could change my mind and move them around if I wanted to. I use one in the bathroom toilet and keep the other by the door so I can grab it and go outside. by attaching it to the side of my RV or other suitable metal with built in magnets. I LOVE these lights. I had previously bought a completely different set from a large store and was very disappointed in them as they chewed up batteries (used three batteries instead of two) and only gave half the light of that set.
