Not even the worst quality I've ever seen, it's a disappointment.

I decided to use the device instead of the Canon G9, which had mysteriously stopped working. I researched it by reading reviews and looking at various photographs and videos. As a progenitor, the SONY RX100III was the camera I first became familiar with. I was prepared for the fact that there may be some rough spots, but Canon's pricey compact cannot fail to satisfy. It seems that this is the case. Unfortunately, none of the aforementioned benefits can make up for the quality of the end product, which is achieved by virtue of the peculiarities of focusing and the subsequent processing that takes place in-camera. The image is lathered along the edges, and this soap is apparently further processed in order to increase sharpness. This is the reason why artifacts are visible on images obtained even in daylight. The image is really only sharp in the center, and it is lathered along the edges. When shooting at a close range, it is possible to get either the near or the far part of an object that has small irregularities in focus. This is because of the lens' ability to blur depth perception. When shooting in the evening at a relatively high ISO, noise is not noticeable, but this is a merit, not so much of the matrix, but of the non-switchable noise reduction, even on RAW. The video is also strange in that, when viewed in full high definition, even with a slow rotation of the camera, the image becomes cloudy and is only restored when the rotation stops. Additionally, when the camera is in motion, the image may twitch slightly. I want to point out that all of the aforementioned characteristics can also be found in the SONY RX100III, albeit to a far lesser amount. Someone would say that I am too focused on the details and pay too much attention to things like pixels. Having said that, my starting point was G9, and it is not acceptable for me to receive a product of worse quality while paying a greater price for it. The camera was handed back to its owner.

Pros
  • 1. Conveniently small and not overly weighty 2. Fast autofocus 3. A variety of environments 4. a touchscreen rotary controller 5. Good optical stabilizer 6. A matrix with a high level of sensitivity 7. Appealing to the eye
Cons
  • The quality of both photos and videos.
