My dad always had an original Bose Acoustic Wave machine. Eventually, the CD player could no longer take child abuse and gave up. I bought this hoping it would work, although it clearly says it's for System II. It really works. The remote control only performs part of the functions. As mentioned by some other reviewers, it's quite noisy when swapping drives. But I don't think it was terrible. It was BAD for me to get slices out of it. To eject a drive, you have to press a tiny, barely marked button to the right of the drive bay. Then the plastic cover covering the slots partially blocked some of the slots and prevented the drives from falling out. Once I figured that out, I moved the plastic and the CD flew out of the slot! This is all bad stuff. On the GOOD side, he does what he has to do. It plays 5 CDs perfectly. Keep in mind! This is NOT a standalone device! This is an ACCESSORY for the Bose Acoustic Wave System II device. The reviewer who bought it thinking it would play CDs didn't read the product description. I only gave 2 stars because I expect a lot more from Bose. It does the job but has some downsides. I expect a $130 accessory for a $1,000 music player to be flawless.
