I bought this to use at home when I cut my family's hair and it does the job. However, when I take it to the salon I don't think it will hold up at all and I won't be comfortable enough to stand on it all day. For the record, I'm not a tall person - I'm 5ft 7in and 145lbs. So it's not like I have a lot of extra weight that would make me uncomfortable standing for long periods of time. I've used the mat twice, both times in sneakers, and my boot tore a hole in the padding. Not very durable, but probably fine for the home, at least for now.
