Review on Enhance Your Raspberry Pi with Kuman's 7" Capacitive Touchscreen Display by Peter Follansbee

I wanted to review this product as I was having a hard time making a purchase decision based on the current questions and answers. This might be the perfect little monitor for some, but not for others. Also, I'm working on a DIY project that requires a very small computer running Windows 10 or 11, so I'm NOT using it for Raspberry. Pi.PROS - Works out of the box with Windows 11, both display and touch. - Uses a full-size HDMI connector, so all my standard monitor cables work just fine. - Powered by the same USB cable that powers the touch surface. If you want to use the screen with keyboard and mouse, just use the "power" of the USB port. I've tried both ways, but my project requires a touchscreen. The picture is clear. It's hard to capture with a phone camera, but it's very legible (in low light - see next part) CONS - "Body" - 4 pieces laser cut, black plexiglass. It's not the worst, but it adds weight and doesn't offer adequate protection. I couldn't find a suitable case online so I may have to 3D print it. This monitor is not very bright and there is no way to adjust the brightness (there MAY be a way, but it has to be done through software). I've looked through all available documents and downloads and don't see any suggested brightness settings). If you are using this in a room with low or medium lighting, it is ACCEPTABLE. If you need to use this outdoors, it probably won't work. The seller states 400 lumens. If true, that means 117 cd/m2, which looks about right compared to my 300 cd/m2 monitors. The touchscreen is ok, but I can't give it 5 stars because the sensitivity seems to drop off at the edges, which can be annoying on Windows. Again, this may be ok if you use larger fonts/buttons etc. In general, I've had this thing on all the time for many days and it works fine. If the downsides don't put you off, this is a great little touchscreen for the price.
