Water softener surge protector required
The water softener transformer had previously been blown by a power surge (and had to be replaced by the softener company who luckily replaced it free of charge) as there was (probably) a printed circuit board on the previous one Softener. This protector is a quality item and protects well. Probably every PCB element needs a surge protector.
