This item is VERY fragile. My first came with the glass under the bulb broken and I was given a replacement. The second arrived safely, but when I unpacked the glass tube of the thermometer broke. I then bought another hydrometer with a more robust construction. The thermometer glass has an unusual shape with 90 degree bends that place the bulb in the center of the liquid. Unfortunately, this design makes the thermometer very fragile. Assuming this device is accurate, it appears suitable for a "laboratory" environment, but it is too fragile for an environment where care cannot be guaranteed.
