I used this to replace my previous over the door shoe rack and I'm so glad I did. It fits perfectly in the closet, the hangers are very sturdy and the construction is great. It holds its shape very well, so when putting on/taking off the shoes the whole thing doesn't fold or anything. All my boxes are full. Drawers are perfect for shoes like sandals, toms, converse, etc. Some large shoes like sneakers or men's shoes may or may not fit depending on size and style. My sneakers (women's 10) and my boyfriend's shoes (men's 11) fit in the same compartment when stacked head to toe like a shoebox, but some of his dress shoes require a compartment each. Boots and heels over 1 inch definitely don't fit in a closet together, but ankle boots and boots that can be folded fit in any closet. The best part is the design. It is not thin at all and can bear weight. Many shoes are fine. The temples are sturdy and I haven't had to fix/adjust anything since I put them on a few months ago. I can only recommend that.
