After spinal surgery I was unable to move my neck to drink properly for a while. These straws were a godsend. They were very strong and durable. One night as I was going to bed, I left one of those straws in my water bottle. I expected it to have turned to a pulp the next morning, but it was still whole and usable! These straws don't have a "flexible" neck, but that wasn't a problem for me because I couldn't bend *my* neck enough to use anything other than a straight straw. Although paper recycling is becoming increasingly difficult, I still feel much more comfortable using these straws than plastic straws.
