Design flaws prevent it from being great

This is a perfectly adequate humidifier with a large enough reservoir, is fairly quiet and easy to use. Cleaning is not easy, but can be done with a little finesse. However, there are a few design flaws that prevent it from being great. First the cord. Relatively adequate length of about 6 feet, but it cannot be detached from the base for easy cleaning of the device. All you can do is unplug it and drag the cord with you. If your outlet is easy to reach and you don't mind a power cord dangling around your sink, you should be fine. (This annoys me, the location of my outlet isn't ideal for frequent unplugging, and the cord makes the base difficult to clean.) You can unscrew the trim around the cord and adjust it *very slightly* if you want a little extra length need (maybe an inch) . Second, tanks. It lies well on the base and is easy to level. However, this area is not sealed, and while the humidifier is in operation, a small amount of condensate collects between the base and the tank walls and flows downward, being squeezed out the outside of the base and pressed down on the surface on which the humidifier is stationary. . Unless it's a wood or other surface that could be damaged by water, it should be fine again - not much water, a few millimeters on a full tank - I noticed that on my bedside table. .Although not perfect, it is certainly sufficient and gives off a good cloud of vapor into the air. But I want these two problems to be solved. Cleaning would still be a little awkward due to the float and fog tube, but easier. Update: Switching from 3 to 2 stars and returning the device only runs 6 times. The leakage problem got worse, going from a few milliliters after the first few runs to nearly an ounce (just under 30ml). Pictures of my kitchen counter after the tank was 3/4 full until it stopped and compared to 1 ounce of water I spilled and then soaked it up with a paper towel. I don't want to run it in the kitchen but I don't have a totally waterproof surface to put it where I need it.
