Yes, I know it's bright steel, so of course an egg sticks to it. I didn't think of that when I bought it. I advise you to wash it right after or soak it in water so that the egg does not harden. Otherwise it is a square to make square eggs. What else would you like to ask? :) My frying pan is small, with a slight bulge at the bottom (the highest point is in the middle, of course). When you put an egg in this square in this pan, the egg may spill over the edges a little, making the boiled eggs look like a square, meaning the egg will stick to 8 flat surfaces and the bottom rim. I didn't rate this based on any information because it's my fault for the pan I have. Just something to consider. Make sure your pan is big enough to fit this thing in the pan. If it helps anyone, this piece measures 5.5" (almost 14 cm) from corner to corner.
