I replaced my 2006 Honda Pilot Key (which I believe was the original factory key). You must remove the RFID chip from the old key and put it in for it to work. I ended up using a Dremel cutting tool and sandpaper to remove the RFID chip since mine was taped to the plastic case. Another tip - when assembling, the metal key was a little loose, which I didn't like. I ended up using superglue on the small plastic case (which slides over the key) and on the bottom half of the clam's plastic case (the clam shell can still open if I need to). For the RFID chip I used double sided tape to hold it in place. I also installed a new 1616 battery. It was a bit more work than expected, but it was a first. If I had to do it all over again, it would be a lot easier. Overall I'm happy with it and the key seems secure.
