Doesn't stick to interior items

I bought this to save money. I assembled the parts according to the instructions but the case didn't snap properly and as a result the item fell apart after a few uses. Note: This is not my first rodeo. I've bought one of these before and it held up much better, but also fell apart at some point. Conclusion: it is better to buy a blank key type and cut it in a hardware store. It costs more but they are much more reliable.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Does not support security tag

I bought this to replace a broken 2006 Honda Pilot key fob. Overall the fit is great and easy to fit, but it quickly became apparent that the most important part of the key was the security tag. The new key does not have space for a security tag or comes with a replacement tag and unfortunately my original was lost during the repair. The car will not start without the security sticker, dealers and locksmiths can provide a replacement.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Dead easy! for interior

It took 1 minute to follow the instructions on the product page. Reading some of the less than positive reviews it becomes painfully obvious that they didn't follow directions or bought the wrong part. In the photo you can see where the blade connects to the body, there is a piece of plastic sticking out of the body. This actually makes this case stronger than the OEM case. The quality of the plastic seems to be comparable to the original. If it doesn't meet my expectations, I'll update this…

Remember your chip!

Damn good device. Only small gaps (picture). Super glued the chip to an empty spot after digging it up with a pocket knife. The new bolt doesn't have a locking ring, but that shouldn't be a problem. Some tricks might have worked, but I ended up having to mount the remote on one half of the cover and the key blade with the bracket on the other, then clamp the two sides. together. The trick I found was to line them up lengthwise almost to the end and then squeeze the body while simultaneously…

VERY WELL WORKED - START

***UPDATE*** Keychain fell apart in less than 3 months. I had to order a 2+1 replacement trunk for my 2006 Honda Pilot because one day after starting the car my original trunk fell completely apart and had to be glued back together. I took the chip out of the broken original case, glued it to the same side as the original case, put everything back together, went to my car to try it and it worked. Big. The only downside was that I had to remove the plastic a bit to get the screw in as the holes…

2006 Honda Pilot Key - Perfect Fit

I replaced my 2006 Honda Pilot Key (which I believe was the original factory key). You must remove the RFID chip from the old key and put it in for it to work. I ended up using a Dremel cutting tool and sandpaper to remove the RFID chip since mine was taped to the plastic case. Another tip - when assembling, the metal key was a little loose, which I didn't like. I ended up using superglue on the small plastic case (which slides over the key) and on the bottom half of the clam's plastic case…

Looks almost like the original.

The body of my original keychain started to come off, so I went and bought this one. At first glance they appear to be identical, but upon closer inspection there are a few differences. For example, there is a protruding plastic at the base of the metal part of a real key that is not present in the original key fob. It's not a problem anyway. If anything, it adds strength to the entire keychain. The bracket was quite tight which made assembly difficult. When trying to assemble it the panic…

No holder for RFID transmitter

I really liked this replacement key fob case. Especially since the thieves asked the local dealer $300 (!) to cut and program a brand new key. It's a high quality hard plastic, like the original, has a logo etc. BUT: There's no room for an RFID chip, which is a small transmitter the size of half a tiny fingernail that's needed to start the car. You need to transfer this chip from the old shell to the new one. The only option is to glue it or maybe glue it. Having never done this before, I…
