No holder for RFID transmitter

I really liked this replacement key fob case. Especially since the thieves asked the local dealer $300 (!) to cut and program a brand new key. It's a high quality hard plastic, like the original, has a logo etc. BUT: There's no room for an RFID chip, which is a small transmitter the size of half a tiny fingernail that's needed to start the car. You need to transfer this chip from the old shell to the new one. The only option is to glue it or maybe glue it. Having never done this before, I didn't realize the RFID was part of the key and threw it away along with the old fob. Once I figured it out, I spent half an hour going through the junk and looking for it. I assembled everything including the old key blade and the fit is just really good. It snaps into place and a screw driver is included, but there are gaps in the case between the top and bottom halves. It works at the moment. Hence three stars because overall it does what it's supposed to, but lacks that little slot to insert the transmitter and the fit isn't perfect like the original.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive
