Review on πŸ“· Nikon AF FX NIKKOR 50mm F/1.4D DSLR Lens with Auto Focus for Nikon DSLR Cameras" - "Enhanced Nikon AF FX NIKKOR 50mm F/1.4D DSLR Lens with Auto Focus, Perfect for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Amit Kumar (Amit) ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

Now there will be capstvo and tediousness. I would like to remind people that 50mm is not a "portrait". "Portrait" is 105 / 2.0 for example. And 50 / 1,4 is a "staff", otherwise called "normal". In film times, something similar was most often found on cameras as a "whale" one: Helios-44-2 is logically similar to a subject. Therefore, a brief description of the subject for Soviet filmmakers will be "the hole is even wider, and there is autofocus."

Pros
  • 1. Geometrically perfect: there are no barrels / pillows, you can compare other lenses with it. 2. Sharp. From 2.0 it is perfectly sharp, at 1.8 it is quite. 3. Beautiful bokeh. 4. Nimble. 5. Lightweight. 6. Relatively cheap.
Cons
  • If you try to invent for a very long time what to write down as a disadvantage, then here: 1. The front lens is outside, unlike 50 / 1.8d (in which the front lens is recessed deep inside), so it is easier to scratch it, and it also needs more in blend. But 90% of all lenses have just such a lens position, everyone is used to it.

Its pros: excellent glass. Ideal for portraits. Perfectly draws corners. Bokeh, which is UNcharacteristic for Nikon, is very pleasant. Cons below: lack of a fast motor, although this is not critical for a portrait
