Review on Premium Fine Mesh Grade Almond Kitchen & Dining by Molly Rodriguez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cannot be used to strain homemade soy milk.

The package arrived quickly and intact but I couldn't use it to strain homemade soy milk and that was the only reason I bought it. I also have to say that the bag I received doesn't look anything like the pictures on Revain - a different drawstring and material looks a lot tighter than the pictures. This is very disappointing as the product description clearly says "Premium Nut Milk Food Bag Fine Mesh Almond/Soy Milk" - I find that misleading. I don't make almond milk, so it might work for that, but definitely not for soy milk. The mesh is really very thin - in fact it's so dense that while water and water-like substances do get through, as I noticed when washing before use, something as thick as my homemade soymilk definitely won't. I tried squeezing the bag and hanging it from a kitchen cupboard handle but only a small trickle came out of the bottom corner tip (the bag has no rounded corners), everything else just stayed in the bag with no visible seepage through the actual bag/mesh Material. I had to remove all the milk from the top of the bag and just pass it through my old strainer which is too porous which is why I needed the bag in the first place. I'll keep the pouch as it's cheap and I could use it to make things like iced tea or something the consistency of water, but I'll buy another pouch for soy milk.

Pros
  • This MULTI-FUNCTIONAL nut milk bag is a MULTI-FUNCTIONAL kitchen tool with dozens of uses including an iced coffee filter, homemade juicer, homemade yogurt maker, all-purpose strainer and much, much more. It has a larger surface area for faster compression so it won't stretch or tear!
Cons
  • It's not as good as it says
