Review on Security System Hybrid HD TVI Office by Jamal Webb

In February 2018 I bought a complete "Lookam" DVR/8 camera. While the hardware was of good quality, the software just didn't allow me to view it from my local network or remotely. In October 2018, after living with it for several months and waiting for promised software updates, I stumbled across this dash cam. While I was a little annoyed at the need to purchase another DVR in order for my system to function properly, if this purchase put an end to the frustration I thought it would be worth the price. Best $230 I've ever spent. This DVR recognized my analogue cameras straight away. and brought them to the monitor. It's relatively easy to customize camera names and locations on the home screen. The Windows software installs easily on my 64-bit Windows 10 PC in another room in my house. This software loads (and closes) somewhat sluggishly. It has capabilities well beyond running a single DVR, so there's a learning curve. But the time spent is worth it, resulting in stable performance. The software for my Android phone also works just as well. Shows up every time the phone has a good connection to my carrier or wireless connection. Finally, I just bought a PTZ IP camera that I connected to my local network. Please note that this system allows eight analogue cameras and two additional IP cameras. The DVR immediately noticed the camera and brought it up on screen. It took a bit of education to get it right on my Windows machine, but that was my ignorance, not the software. The PTZ and focus functions work perfectly from monitor, LAN and Android phone. Pleased with that. So I decided to sit down and write a review after a few months. Customer Service: I had a problem early on (can't even remember what the problem was) but my call was routed to one of their technicians and within two minutes I had my response. So if you have a loocam or other hardware and like me love the hardware but hate the software - or if you are building a security system from scratch - I would highly recommend this dash cam. Very flexible in its ability to bind to multiple camera types and the software just works.
