Very disappointing top of the line fish and aquatic products

Received two of these with the intention of adding them to my CO2 line to protect my investment in my needle valve. I used several higher quality tubes when building my system with a thicker wall. This meant that getting my airline to actually cater to this barb was extremely difficult. Long story short, it took me several hours and several tries to get enough line over the first barb to be sure they would stay at all. I had to grip the first one so hard that I used a wrench and when the first one failed I assumed it was because I was squeezing it so hard with the wrench that, although there was no visible damage, something im was broken inside. So I threw it away and wanted to install a second one. I learned from the first experience and soaked my air lines in boiling water for a few minutes to soften them and this made installing the second much easier. It still wasn't easy, but I managed to get the airline to go through all three spikes and not push the check valve too hard. The second doesn't work either. I regularly get water pumped back through the overhead line from my reactor and it won't stop until it hits this check valve. Water got in and I don't know how long it will last. Regardless, I'm very disappointed that both failed before actually being used. At least the water seems to stop once it hits the valve, which is better than nothing, but there's no guarantee it won't cause problems driving forward. Edit: Two weeks later, water is regularly sucking right through the check valve. It's useless now. It wasn't even worth the work I put into installing it.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • dull packaging
