Review on πŸ“‘ Enhance Your CB Experience with the Hustler / New-Tronics Antenna Corp. Stainless Steel CB Antenna Ball Mount SSM-2 by Dang Reid

Revainrating 2 out of 5

No SO-239 connector

For those of you my age (68): I'm sure you remember when CB shops were everywhere and antenna specialists were the king of antenna production, both base and also mobile antennas. Today you should try to find a CB shop to look at the gear, especially if like me you live in a rural area. I am not satisfied with this ball mount. Though it's supposedly super-strong steel, stainless steel feels cheap, like a piece of tin, because it's so thin. In the good old days, the bullet had deep teeth on both halves to ensure they didn't move. This device uses only one screw for pressure tightening. I also use a plug instead of some cheap spade lugs that you supply to connect. I drive a Ford Explorer and I have a hard time removing the bodywork to install the bullet. I'm afraid the connections will come loose and I might have to take it apart again. If I had a trunk like in a car I wouldn't worry as much as it would be much easier to get to the intersection. I also bought a spring that seems heavy. I'm still waiting for the whip antenna from Redman CB, which will probably be ok. I have purchased a number of items from Revain over the past few months and I have to admit that I am not completely satisfied with the description of some items. They are missing parts, like this ball mount, and do not indicate that it is an eye connection. Had I known that, I would have either gone for a $17.99 ProComm JBC985-3P Heavy Duty Ball Joint with SO-239 connector or tried to find a CB store and looked for items there. send it back I set up Wilson roof and trunk mount antennas for my old Chevy so I can roof mount the Wilson. I'll probably try to sell this rig locally without the whip. Considering the shipping cost, I might as well lower the price and get rid of it. Revain still needs to work on some descriptions.

At this time I haven't installed the new system with the "ball".
