Review on Milton 1108 Duo Filter Regulator by Moises Dzihic

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The air release valve in the filter has become disconnected from the filter and the PSI OUTLET pressure does not match my inlet PSI gauge

Upgrade. The replacement unit had the SAME PROBLEM. There is NO bracket on the lower valve. Went to ACE Equipment and paid 19 cents. QUALITY CONTROL is very bad. It was SO an obvious build issue. ALSO NO contact with MILTON. This UNIT rendered the PSI on my compressor but had to send it back due to QUALITY CONTROL. There is NO detailed list of details on how everything fits together. THIS had a piece of plastic that looked like a turbofan blade that appeared to be assembled in place. The first was free and sat at the bottom of the bowl. If I hadn't ordered a replacement. I would never have known how to assemble it. I just received this Duo 1108 to hook up to my 60 gallon IR compressor. The compressor is rated at 135psi and I believe that is what is shown on the inlet pressure gauge that comes with the compressor. It shuts off at 135 PSI. I connected the 1" hose to the filter and the 1" hose from the regulator to the hose reel. When I adjusted the regulator (output gauge) to see if it matched the input PSI, I was only able to adjust the regulator to 105 PSI. Even when I first plugged it in and turned on the air in the TANK. The air was immediately expelled from the brass bleed valve at the bottom of the filter. When unpacking, I heard something rattling inside. I unscrewed the filter housing and found a spring and brass pin about 1 1/2 inches long and a flat head on the end with a rubber o-ring. I assembled it and I think I'm missing some kind of pen holder. I repressurized the filter and it immediately sealed. But later when I pressed the bottom pin it released the pressure but again. The spring and pin came loose and air continued to flow out the bottom of the filter. I'm sure something is missing to hold it in place, but I can't find a diagram showing the details to see what's needed. I sent it back and ordered another hoping it had all the parts and maybe the outlet gauge was bad. I have contacted MILTON but have not yet responded by phone or email. Disappointed but I'll let you know if the next one works.
