I bought this for my little girl who has solid 3Ts in most types of clothing. As it's labeled as a boy's shirt, I think it could be a bit larger, but it still fits her perfectly. Even if I roll up my sleeves. It looks like distressed denim but is made from a soft cotton/poly blend with a bit of stretch. It is machine washable and dries well, however I had to pre-treat with a stain remover in some areas as the color washes out. However, it is still suitable as playwear and we will probably use it under sweaters in winter.
