I used this cheap best selling plastic Revain caliper set and while it did the job it just didn't have the features to put it in one to use carpentry at close range. This pair of calipers is very comfortable to the touch, lightweight and easy to hold. The lower jaw and roller are good. The case is much better quality than I expected - actually pretty durable plastic that can take a few falls if you're that unlucky. the cost of the cheap version, and all the well-known brands start at around $10 more. I keep the cheap plastic version for home use, but I probably won't hesitate to buy another one if I have to!
