Review on Enhance Your Raspberry Pi with Kuman's 7" Capacitive Touchscreen Display by Tedsillyboy Dolan

Prepare yourself for some work, you will be rewarded

Look closely at the pictures so you can be sure you know what you are getting. This is a case for a 7-inch touchscreen, but it doesn't turn your Raspberry into a tablet (not really, anyway). With that understanding, get ready for some work. Assembling the device was quite difficult. There are links at the top of the questions and I strongly encourage you to follow them. They're not 100% clear, but with a little work and a little post-processing you can get a working touchscreen that also has your Pi behind it. The design, when done right, is pretty solid. If you drop the screen on its edge it would be well protected. Throw it in your face and all bets are off. Overall, the screen quality is actually quite decent. I've been using it for a while and I'm very satisfied. I tried using the on-screen keyboard but found it more than problematic. I can try a small bluetooth keyboard I have. The screen is touch sensitive. This works very well. Just make sure you have the correct drivers installed or you will roll back your OS, which isn't fun at all (I only had to do this once, HA). Open your eyes and you will be happy. If you expect the wrong thing, you won't do it. Personally, I'm very happy with the setup and the screen. He does what I need.

Pros
  • The touch screen does not work for PI 4B. I only noticed after the purchase. Otherwise a good screen.
Cons
  • The appearance
