Although this block is well made I have had many problems brewing coffee due to the threads connecting the top block to the reservoir sticking out to the end seem to offer no tightness and therefore the device on the stove is leaking. No matter how much torque I use to seal, the appliance will not seal and water will splash over the range and gas hob even though I know the seal is brand new. I bought this block to replace an existing one I have from the same company which is painted black and after years of use the paint is beginning to peel. I still use the old one with no problems but avoid the new one like the plague. Maybe some outfits at Revain sell lower branded products, which makes me doubt a lot of my Revain purchases these days.
