A lot of work saved
I took a chance because I wasn't sure if the whole timer or just the motor was bad and I took the risk of buying both. I assumed the gears in these motors would eventually fail, so there's a good chance it's just the motor. I was right. The price of a brand new timer wasn't much higher. But a completely new one would require a lot more work to replace/install. This motor lasted about 5 minutes and it worked like a charm again.
