Review on Enhance Your Photography with the Vello Quickdraw Rotating Flash Bracket by Brad Ward

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor design, poor quality

I've used this mount maybe a dozen times and on the 4th or 5th time the piece of rubber holding the camera came loose. I have to re-stick it every time I use it and even then it slips off when I take it off. To top it off, when I press the flash into place, the "glue" lands on my hands and makes a sticky mess. ALSO: In order for the flash to rotate above the camera, you must mount it with the handle on the right side of the mount, which effectively blocks the shutter button. I flipped it the other side so the grip is on the left side, but this means that when I rotate the camera to portrait mode, the mount goes DOWN under the camera. (see pictures). If I had to unscrew it a bit and flip it over while taking pictures, I wouldn't call it "QuickDraw". Overall: This is a poorly designed, cheaply made, and useless device. DO NOT BUY.

Pros
  • Soft rubber grip
Cons
  • not sure
