Aluminum is not the right material

I knew beforehand but wanted to save money. Bare aluminum is very sticky, like metals. The ultra-thin layer of oxidation that comes with raw aluminum makes working with forage much more difficult than it should be. They are completely tucked into the super-sliding Dyneema line. The logos and markings applied to the surface only make it more difficult. If the company had just anodized them and made them plain, everything would have been fine. Anyway, stainless steel chucks are more expensive and I had to use them. I also had to choose the split base type for ease of use. Threading a string through a small hole takes forever. I think it would be good for entry level splicing and at a greatly reduced price. But if you plan on actually rigging for any length of time, this is just a frustrating exercise.
