I was skeptical but decided to try this tool. I was fed up with the shadow screw method and figured it was only a matter of time before I messed something up with it. For $15 I realized what the heck. It worked great! You must be patient when working a small lip above the surface and below the seal. Remember that you are not trying to fully penetrate the seal. You just need to work the tool under the metal core. As soon as he enters, don't start slapping him. You lift a little, move the tool to another place and lift a little more. You don't have to pull out the entire "blade" to move to a new location. It slides easily along the edge of the seal. I probably worked about halfway around the seal before it popped out. My first use was on a Mitsubishi camshaft seal. I certainly see limitations based on location/bottling access, but I'm glad to have this little guy in my toolbox.
