Review on πŸ”© BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX Cordless Drill/Driver - BDCDD220C with Lithium Battery and 2 Speeds by Chris Moody

Frustrated by Black & Decker

I bought this unit hoping it would be a good alternative to those expensive (+$100) drill bits. But after receiving it I understand why it is cheaper. Let's start with the lining, except for the jaws, they're all plastic and look like they'll break easily. The entire body of the drill is made of plastic. It seems that if you drop it, it will break. My biggest problem is that they provide you with a slow charger that when your battery dies your project has to wait up to 8 hours to charge the battery. I consider this drill a light cordless screwdriver. I have had great success with B&D products in the past but this drill was a real disappointment. I bought a Bauer drill press. Same 2 speed settings. It cost about the same. Its body is made up of about 50% metal. The cartridge is 100% metal and comes with a 'fast' charger that charges a 20V lithium battery pack in 20 minutes.
