Frustrated by Black & Decker

I bought this unit hoping it would be a good alternative to those expensive (+$100) drill bits. But after receiving it I understand why it is cheaper. Let's start with the lining, except for the jaws, they're all plastic and look like they'll break easily. The entire body of the drill is made of plastic. It seems that if you drop it, it will break. My biggest problem is that they provide you with a slow charger that when your battery dies your project has to wait up to 8 hours to charge theโ€ฆ

7 months later and he's dead

Edit: After a second LIVE CHAT with Black & Decker support (actually Dewalt support) they were very nice and sent me spare drills with quick 2 day delivery. Upgrade to 2 stars for support. I've only used it for about 7 months, mostly around the house. Drilled a small hole last week and it started smoking. The drill is still spinning, but after a few seconds it smells like fire and smoke comes out. Claiming a 2 year warranty I check the B&D website which advises me to call the local serviceโ€ฆ

Great value for money power tool

I usually wait a few months before writing a review. And before I buy anything, I read as many reviews as I can, especially 1, 2, and 3 star reviews as long as they are well thought out (you can always get a lemon from any manufacturer). However, having used this drill/screwdriver non-stop for the last four weeks, I feel like I can give a decent opinion after this constant use. Just note that I'm not an expert when it comes to power tools. Anyway, in those four weeks I've reinforced the frontโ€ฆ
