My daughter always tried to take her dolls on the bike. She tried putting them in a basket, tying them on their backs, etc., but it never worked and she felt guilty for treating them like dolls. When we saw this bike seat we thought we found the perfect solution. It's plastic and seems strong enough for a doll. My only complaint is that the seat is shaped so that the doll lies in a prone position rather than sitting upright. This can be seen in the photo on the purchase page. It doesn't detract from the functionality of the item but doesn't look like it when the doll is mounted and my daughter is a bit disappointed with that. Otherwise, she loves it and is happy to be able to roll her dolls comfortably and humanely. (The dolls are her children, as you know.)
