I installed it under a shelf above my computer. At the lowest brightness level, this is enough to illuminate the keyboard. That's exactly what I wanted. However, the battery only lasts 8 hours on the lowest brightness level. So I have to charge it every other day. Also, it's difficult to turn it on and off since the switch is on the end. When the switch is moved, the light slides off the magnetic mounts and/or the switch changes to the motion sensor position. Thus, two hands are required to turn the switch on and off. One hand to move the switch and the other to hold the block off the bracket. So I don't recommend it as I don't see any application that would solve these problems.
