This started out working great, finding spikes and giving lots of 'alerts' when you approached spikes. I then worked on adding an outlet for a wall mounted flat screen TV and had consistently positive results for a wall fire break. I tested it 10 times on different spots on the wall because I didn't feel like opening the wall to get through the firebreak. Eventually, I trusted the spike finder and crashed into the wall only to find there was no firebreak. Now I have to patch and paint the wall which adds another hour to an easy project. I passed the instrument over the hole I made in the wall and it still glows like a dead spot on a post. (No electrical cord or other object within 1 foot in any direction behind the wall.
