Review on Proraso Pre-Shave Conditioning Cream for Men, Sensitive Skin Formula - Oatmeal & Green Tea, 3.6 oz: Expert Hydration & Protection by Matt Bell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Why I like it/What it does (updated 7/23/19)

Same rating applies, but note: I've since decided that I now want to do prep shave with Taylor from Old Bond Street " ( TOBS) prefer for shaving. The results are similar, but both products are much more skin-friendly. The product is so gentle you can leave it on all day as an aftershave, for burns, diaper rash, etc. It doesn't have a "chemical" effect like the two Proraso products. While TOBS is very tender and creamy with no bite. I stand by my review of both Proraso products, but I quickly fell in love with the added convenience of Prep + TOBS. Since so many people liked my review, I wanted to make sure people get this update. So if you're happy with both the prorazo pre-shave and the prorazo shave, you're good to go. However, if Proraso is chemically too strong for you, I would suggest trying Prep+TOBS. I don't know if it matters, but I specifically used "Eton College" TOBS. It took me a while to find the perfect mix, but I don't think I need to experiment any more. Now the first review, which somehow became a blog. Background: After Gillette decided to denigrate men, it's time to learn how to shave with high-quality, double-edged razors made by companies that men don't hate. So I experimented with the Edwin Jagger DE razor (perfect for beginners) and a cream mix (but not pre-shave). due to too many blade strikes in the same place that I had to do (and I'm conservative, I don't do anything against the grain - it causes me too many problems). The cream seemed to stay on the skin but didn't blend into the skin and thus didn't do its job. Testing Pre Shave: At first I wasn't sure what Pre Shave actually did for me. Now I love the pre-shave because it makes the shave so much faster in just 1-2 strokes which means less damage to the skin. HOW TO SHAVE WITH PRE SHAVE: Jump in the shower, wet your face. Then apply a sufficient amount of pre-shave (at least 2 peas). Then (I don't think you need to wait 3 minutes, 1 is probably fine) take the tube of cream and place it about 1 inch straight in your hand (no brush required). Mix it vigorously with some water that you add to your hands. Apply it to your face and rub it in well. Grab a razor and start shaving (use feather blades with Jagger - don't be afraid). Remember, use light pressure, let the pre shave and cream get the area right so the tool does its job effortlessly. You will find that everything happens at once. If you miss a stain, rub the stain again with a little water if necessary (there will be plenty of pre-shave cream and reactivation cream left). Also, don't be silly and shave against the grain first, you might not have to. If necessary, use a soothing aftershave instead of an alcohol-based perfume to burn the skin. Consequences: I love preshave products because I understand why they work well. Imagine making your shave smooth by starting and ending in the middle without drama. Other important planning tips: Don't assume you know which way your mustache is pointing. If you look closely, you might find that not only do they not grow straight down, but they can also make a few sharp turns. Also, they are not necessarily the same on both sides of the face. There's a guy in the UK called Larry the Barber who even has blank face templates that you can download if you want to make a card for very careful planning. Watch him on YouTube or visit his website. For those who want to live in a world without hate: Gillette hates men, but Gillette hates women too! Many people have taken pictures showing women paying more for their razor blades. So Gillette hates 100% of the world's population. They probably hate dogs too. Sad, just sad.
