I'm a design freak and loved this product after the Milk Street test. . Luckily there was no damage. When disassembling the rice cooker for the first rinse by hand, the stainless steel strainer at the bottom didn't come out easily and I had to use a wooden spoon to push it out. After rinsing and drying (need to be careful of the deep channels in the handle that hold water) I just couldn't get the stainless steel screen to seed the soil properly after a few tries and even pushed hard with a wooden spoon to get it shut make it snap into place and the green element will snap into place. Please see my photo of the shards that broke off during this process. I even watched videos on YouTube on how to assemble this rice machine. Still disassembled, I return. :-(
