Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Black Carago Aluminum Metal Armor Cooling Case for Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, with Passive Cooling Column - Compatible with Raspberry Pi 4B only by Todd Hauff

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Heavy and hits all the right places

Product photos are misleading as they are renderings but the actual product is better than the renderings. Inside are four mounts for the processor (SoC), RAM, input power converter, and USB controller. It includes correctly sized screws for assembly and silicone spacers for each of the supports. I had no problems with interference when connecting cables (power, HDMI1, USB). There are cutouts for the GPIO ribbon cable to come out as well as one for the internal display header which I think could also be used for the camera but I didn't use it either. I have an overvoltage of +4 and am running at 1900MHz and Stressberry peaked at around 60C after an hour. Idle temp 39C, 42-45C on light desktop tasks. Running an FFT stress test on all four cores will still hit 80C, so that's no guarantee you won't still be able to throttle, but I never go above 70C on heavy builds. That's a lot for such a heavy piece of metal that does its job perfectly.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine
