We have a year old lab and we needed something to surround the Christmas tree to keep it away from it. We bought two of these gates and they worked great! We liked the way they looked as they acted as a barrier without disturbing the look of the tree. They are lightweight and self-contained, yet durable. Now that the tree has fallen they replace the two traditional gates we have in other places where the pup can't get through. They're not necessarily strong enough to withstand anything being pressed against them, but if you just want a visible barrier, they will. We were delighted with our purchase!
