Review on Grey Brica Breeze Baby In-Sight Fan Car Mirror - Keep Your Little One Cool On The Road! by Robin Detwiler

A mirror with fan that has a limited tilting angle

The Brica Breeze Baby Mirror with fan is a nifty baby product with one minor problem. The Brica Breeze Baby Mirror comes with the mirror and the IR remote. Installing 3AAA batteries (not included) in the back is easy, just loosen the one Phillips screw with a screwdriver to remove the battery panel and pop them in, then screw the panel back together. There are two ways to attach the mirror to a car's headrest. The most straightforward way is to wrap it around the headrest and fasten the hook to the back of the mirror. There are various hooks and straps in the rear of the mirror, but it's easy to figure out. I found this to be a sufficiently sturdy way to attach the mirror. If you don't have a large enough headrest to support the somewhat large mirror, you can wrap the main strap to the back of the seat and have it attach to a car seat anchor latch. I did not opt to use this method, but it seems manageable if you have an SUV where you can easily access the rear anchor. Once installed on the headrest, there isn't much wiggle room to adjust the angle of the mirror.which is probably a good thing because you would want the mirror to stay firmly in place in the case of a car accident. The mirror has a slight curve to it to give you a wider view than a flat mirror. This means that a driver of almost any height should be able to see their child in the mirror. The mirror works as expected. The fan is a nice thought, but it's not that great. You can tilt the fan housing, but the tilt angle options are limited. In a larger SUV, I found that I couldn't quite get the fan tilted down at the correct angle to be blowing around the baby's face and neck, the best I could do is to have to blowing above the baby's head. The fan's low speed is pretty low, so it would be ok and refreshing to be angled a little more toward the face and neck. While having the remote is nice, it's a bit of a challenge to use. I tried to aim the remote in my rear view mirror to bounce an IR signal back to the Brica mirror, but that never worked. Using the remote with me blindly aiming to the back seat while I was driving resulted in success about 25% of the time. I imagine I'll become more efficient with using it after more practice, but you obviously don't want to be trying to operate the remote while in traffic or while merging.Overall, the Brica Breeze Baby In-Sight Mirror with Fan is a neat product that has some benefits beyond a normal baby mirror. However, if you have a large SUV, the headrest might keep the mirror angled in a way that prevents the fan from being aimed at the baby's face and neck, so I dropped it to 4-stars for that.
