Review on HotLogic Mini Personal Portable Black by Paula Mellgren

No temperature adjustment = spoiled food

Serious and dangerous disturbances. I tested HotLogic on two separate Marie calendar frozen meals. I connected the first one at 8:00 and checked at 11:00. I opened the zip-top bag and saw the contents of the lunch cook quickly, with the plastic wrap sticking out. The temperature on my laser thermometer showed 215 degrees. F on foil packaging. The contents were overcooked, unrecognizable and inedible. I tried the second dinner and set it to just two hours with almost the same results. The problem with this particular appliance is that it didn't have temperature control and couldn't maintain a constant temperature (like a slow cooker). Did I get a defective block? I was surprised because most of the one star reviews were due to the unit not getting warm enough or just stopped working. I think HotLogic is a great idea with serious bugs that need fixing. $40 is too much for a cheap zippered lunch bag with an unregulated "hot plate" temperature. I didn't expect anything from HotLogic other than a hot lunch a few hours later, but he just couldn't deliver. No more spoiled meals for me. I just returned it. Note: I rarely leave one star reviews. It could just be that the block is defective. Don't let this review put you off trying any of them. You can get one that works.
