This is my fourth disc golf backpack. It's lighter than others I like and it comfortably holds about 18 discs in the main compartment and 4 on the sides (I usually carry about 18-20), there's plenty of room in the side pockets but the top pocket is small. less than I expected. He'll be comfortable on a long-sleeved shirt, but a sweatshirt will put pressure on him. Perhaps a sweatshirt fits into one of the insulated side pockets. It doesn't have the same ribbed frame so the top sags a little when you pick it up, but the bottom of the main compartment is sturdy so it holds its shape where the discs are and sits nicely on the floor. All in all I love it. I've only played a few rounds with him so far so we'll see how he holds up. Only criticism is that the bottle holders are quite big. A 32-ounce Gator bottle will most likely fit, but there's no elastic or string on the top, so I'm worried about my favorite 20-ounce or 24-ounce water bottle slipping out unnoticed. The straps are comfortable and the weight is great!
