Review on ViewSonic XG270Q with DisplayHDR - Ergonomic 2560x1440P Monitor with 165Hz, Built-In Speakers, Tilt and Swivel Adjustments by George Cassanova

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall, the ViewSonic Elite XG270Q is an excellent monitor.

I've wanted to upgrade monitors for a long time. I was looking for something with a good balance between gaming and performance characteristics as I am both a gamer and a photographer. Tried the ViewSonic Elite XG270Q and was not disappointed. First, I really like the overall style and design of the monitor itself. It's understated and doesn't scream like a gaming monitor. The only branding is a small Elite logo that kind of disappears so it doesn't yell at you when you look at the monitor. There is RGB lighting on the back and RGB lighting on the bottom. Make sure to connect the monitor via USB and download the Elite Display Controller software. This allows you to tweak the monitor settings and play around with the RGB settings. The good news is that if you use the RGB adjustment software, it will be saved on the monitor. So you can use the software once, set it up and never use it again if you want. My copy has no dead pixels and the image is fairly even across the screen. My RTX3070 recognizes the monitor as G-Sync compatible. So far I haven't noticed any issues with flickering or anything like that in the games I've tried. In the state of delivery, the color accuracy is okay. Gamers will love it as it is bright and rich in colors. Since I also use it for photography, I calibrated it with a Datacolor Spyder 5 to get the best possible color reproduction. While it's not a 'professional' display for color work, it's excellent if you want that combination of gaming and that. I've included some results after calibration here.
