Review on ViewSonic XG270Q with DisplayHDR - Ergonomic 2560x1440P Monitor with 165Hz, Built-In Speakers, Tilt and Swivel Adjustments by Brandon Bradford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good, bright, feature-rich monitor for gaming, movies, and editing (would be great if bug-free)

This review is for the XG270Q. I bought 3. They arrived on time and the packaging was undamaged, although one was sealed with tape and the other 2 weren't. Good: Monitors are bright, color space and depth are accurate and good, and 2K resolution is good. Done and you get 165 Hz through the display port. 144Hz via HDMI. It would be nice if it was 165 Hz. FYI, however, you can get 4K at 60Hz if you plug it into the HDMI ports (sometimes it happens and they don't sell it outright), which is great for photo editing and even console gaming. The display has a matte surface. The build quality is good, the base is not too big, beautiful and solid. The monitors can be easily lifted, tilted, rotated and rotated. Added features for a headset hanger, mouse cable guides (2 of them, one on each side), RGB on the back and under the bottom bezel (which could be brighter but I haven't tested the right situations for that yet), and a USB hub are neat extras that enhance your gaming or desktop setup by helping you keep your peripherals looking organized and sleek. In the case of a hub, more USB ports are added to your setup. There's HDR, not HDR1000 (this monitor has HDR400), but you'll notice the difference. It's G-sync compatible because my laptop notified me to connect a G-sync compatible display and you enabled it in Nvidia settings. This is just as good as G-Sync only monitors as they also allow free syncing and are cheaper. The bezels on the top and sides are narrow, while the bottom isn't too bad. Overall, I like that these monitors have a lot to offer. The OSD menu is pretty easy to use; I wish they had used a different interface for menu navigation than joystick grip manufacturers like to use. Bad monitors: 2 have 1 stuck pixel each (no bad pixels) and the other has 2 stuck pixels. You're not dead, but you're close. So QC/QA is not 100% and these are relatively expensive monitors and Viewsonic is a reputable company known for their beautiful and high quality displays. There are no other physical problems with them and light bleeding is almost non-existent, but now I'm wondering what if. Whether more pixels get stuck or other problems may arise. So check everything before the 30 days are up and I haven't done it yet. And keep the boxes in case something happens before the 30 days are up. So 4 stars. Another problem common to many monitors is that other settings cannot be changed when certain settings are enabled. As I said, I haven't gone through all the settings, but it would be nice to be able to tweak the settings a bit when a certain mode is selected or adaptive sync is enabled. I'm sure they tweak it, but everyone's eyes are different. However, this is not a violation of the terms of the contract. It's a great monitor when it's flawless.
