Ultimately, I think the question is whether $50 is a good thing a bike light costs . Most cheap flashlights are not very bright, especially during the day. The brightness below 250 lumens annoys me because I ride my bike almost every day, often at night in winter. For what I use so often, I should pay more for something that is not only brighter but also offers better beam quality and visibility. For 700 lumens I couldn't find a better deal, 450-500 lumens weren't much cheaper and 950-1000+ lumens were too much for a little more cost so $50 was on the high end of my price target. I think 30β¬ would be more reasonable. This works very well on some parts of my commute where there are no street lights and it gets very dark in the winter. I can see the road and avoid obstacles and potholes with ease. I find brightness less useful at night than during the day in really shadowed areas (too much ambient light), especially when climbing mountains. Battery life is pretty good, it's relatively light and compact, and the color matches my bike's clean black look. Aside from the cost, the main thing that bothers me is the mini-USB port. Micro USB would be much better. In addition, the rubber stopper of the mini-USB port has somehow come loose. The handlebar mount barely fits my handlebars and the grip got caught in the cables. I was able to solve the latter by replacing it with a Home Depot lamb.
