There are better (and bulkier) products out there but in size and price if they remove half the dirt in my water that might be in it I will do it use it. I have purchased several polyurethane filters over the years. This is my fourth. For the first time since using this product, this recent purchase has given the water a foul fishy taste which I understand is due to the anionic resins in the filter releasing trimethylamine (foul fishy smell). To solve this problem, simply run more water through the filter before drinking from it. If wastewater is a problem for you, you can use the water to mop the floor or wash the dishes. And this time, the fake metal color (you can't even call it "stainless steel style") has a slight bronze hue that contrasts with the REAL stainless steel of my kitchen faucet. Make no mistake, THIS PRODUCT IS MADE OF PLASTIC! THIS IS NOT STAINLESS STEEL contrary to what the product page title says! I think this can be called false advertising. As I was writing this, particularly with regard to the last point, I've persuaded myself not to give it three stars. It may be the last time I buy it, but I will keep it.
