Basement just finished. Despite good insulation, it only has one heating/cooling output. I have two other small heaters in another part of the basement on the same circuit and didn't want to risk overloading the switch. I set this heater on low (500 watts) about halfway between minimum and maximum, and the temperature in the room went from 69 degrees to nearly 72 degrees. I can actually dial it back a bit. I would like to emphasize that this 1000W unit may not be sufficient as the sole source of heat for a room, especially if the room is not adequately insulated to begin with. I believe this heater will be able to "pull" the cold out of underheated spaces without overloading the circuit breaker. Be sure to check the size of the switch and the number of amps/watts drawn by other devices on the switch.
