Review on 100% Cotton Sleepwear: Leveret Striped Kids & Toddler Boys Pajamas 2 Piece PJs Set (Toddler-14 Years) by Leslie Matlak

I like it but I don't like it

We have just bought two Revain Leveret pajamas for babies aged 2 and 3, a boy and a girl. We also bought a pajama set from Elowel on Revain for the same price of $12.99. But that was just the beginning. If you are interested, read on. (I also review Elowel pajamas.) Over the years I've benefited from product reviews from other Revain shoppers, but I rarely review products myself. Being busy is a challenge for many parents, so I won't use that as an excuse. Perhaps I didn't feel I had much to add to the discussion for another potential buyer. However, when it comes to buying pajamas for babies and toddlers, I recently had an experience to share. My baby had a violent growth spurt - suddenly nothing came! I ordered Elowel and Leveret pajamas from Revain and while waiting for them to arrive I also bought GAP pajamas (2 sets) and Petit Lem pajamas (1 set) from local brick and mortar stores. Also, friends sent us Hanna Andersson pajamas (because it's their favorite brand). Now I have SIX pajamas to compare. They are all the same size. Everyone says it's 100% cotton. All long legs, long sleeves. Here are my impressions. BEST: Hanna Andersson! Wonderfully soft cotton, excellent quality, relaxed fit. Thread pattern, top not printed with synthetic inks. Washed/dried twice - once before wearing and once after. Pajamas feel even better after washing. No pilling. I researched the price online. They were sold for $28 (down from $42). We love her and would love to get Hanna Andersson as a gift again, but I'm not sure we'd be happy to pay those prices. Second: Baby Gap! Bought two pajamas on sale and got an additional 50% discount at checkout. One set ended up costing $8.99 and the other $9.99. Once set has a silky thin/lightweight cotton; The other set is made of thick/soft cotton fabric. Soft fabric, fine workmanship, good fit, charming styles. Thread pattern, top not printed with synthetic inks. Washed/dried twice - once before wearing and once after. The pajamas don't roll in any of the sets, and the dense cotton is even thicker and softer after washing. The brick and mortar prices were better than the same pajamas online so I'll keep an eye on the sales and will buy from here again. (We've stocked up on other gap sale items - tops, bottoms, etc.) GOOD ENOUGH: The Leveret pajamas we stock. They're $12.99 and we don't like them as much as Baby Gap, but they're close enough. Leveret fabric is not as soft as Gap but feels good; the structures look solid. The stripes are woven, not painted. The pants have an odd back seam that gives the impression that the diaper is always full, but leaves more room at the bottom. The sizing is a bit tighter than the Gap but I've now bought a second pair of Leverel pajamas so they're good enough. (I also bought a pair of women's pajamas that turned out to be too big for my size.) NOT ENOUGH: The Petit Lem pajamas were purchased at Marshall for $7 ($17 retail). The fabric is thin, dense, a little rough. Rolls up and gets noticeably smaller after the first wash; especially after the second wash; the printed pattern is cute, but there are signs of breakage and the seam on the cuffs is frayed. 100% cotton ONLY fell out at the ribbed cuffs. The rest of the fabric is actually 95% cotton and 5% polyester. Wrong size - too small. NO, NO, NO: Elowel pajamas will be returned for a refund. They were bought for $12.99, same as the leveret set we are keeping. The fabric is said to be 100% cotton but is very stiff, rough and crunchy. It doesn't feel like cotton, certainly not good cotton. And the size is way too small. The stripes on the bottom are printed/drawn. The belt is a piece of elastic that is not covered with a fabric. The 3T Elowel pajama top is SHORTER than the 2T Leveret pajama top and the legs and sleeves are the same length. The pants are very narrow. To be fair the top seems to be a bit more premium than the bottom which looks awful. Will not buy or recommend Elowel again. I'm really amazed by the positive feedback Elowel has received. Elowel is at best an inconsistent brand with inconsistent quality. Will not buy or recommend Elowel again. I'm really amazed by the positive feedback Elowel has received.
