I would have preferred 6 feet over 4 feet, but otherwise this kit works great. The optically high-quality aluminum telescopic segments are folded along the grooves so that they cannot twist against each other. The brackets holding the extended segments are very strong. The end of the retractable pole has threads (about the size of a broomstick I think) while the bulb replacement suction cup that goes on it has thumbscrews to hold it to the pole, but they don't seem to harm each other in any way . The suction cup is fairly stiff to maintain a grip but has a pull feature to release the suction when a new lamp is installed. It takes some practice to get this suction cup working and if your bulbs were originally hand tightened you may not be able to use this product to remove them. But once you've installed relatively low-voltage light bulbs, you should be able to use them to easily replace them.
