As they are primarily intended for recovery after various forms of foot surgery, it seems logical that the manufacturer has focused on making them lightweight make. With this surgical shoe, it is so heavy that the foot and toes are unnecessarily burdened, which is not conducive to healing. In my particular case, I had Kirschner pins in a repaired broken toe, and this shoe was incredibly uncomfortable due to the weight, limited range of adjustment of the Velcro straps, and placement of the bandage over the Kirchner pins. I will look for other options in this category.
