Review on Intel Core I5 3470 Quad Core Processor Computer Components by Stanisaw Lewczuk ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm completely satisfied with the product, it works.

Since two months ago, I have been the proud owner of this processor (an i5 3570k). There was a divide in opinion. When I switched to it from the Phenom x4 9550 plus the new Z77 platform, I did not detect ANY difference in the speed of typical programs (the internet, office software, and multimedia). Even in third-person games, there has been no improvement in terms of frames per second (FPS). Everything hinges on the video card, which in this case is an AMD HD5570. When playing Crysis, the frame rate won't change regardless of whatever processor you use. The performance of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 in terms of frames per second is identical or even improved in Crysis 3. It has come to our attention that all that is required to get a higher refresh rate is the purchase of a video card that is more up-to-date; we need not bother updating the entire platform. The problem is obvious: 20–40 frames per second with anti-aliasing turned off might not be enough for some people, but increasing the performance of an i5 3570k over a PHenomx4 9550 by four (!) times does not bring any additional frames per second when using the same video card. For this reason, I believe that the switch from the archaic platforms (2022) to Ivy Bridge was only justifiable from an ethical standpoint (like - out of date). These ancient platforms are capable of pulling Crysis 3 very well, although not at the highest settings. Regarding the highest settings, it is important to note that while playing the game, you will not be able to distinguish between the maximum and the minimum settings unless you make a conscious effort to pause the action and examine the environment in great detail. Naturally, it is possible to be impressive if the square tiles of the floor on which you run, the urine of opponents, do not have four lines, but six, or if the leaves on the trees do not have a clear shape; however, such realistically expressed details only complement the idea of the game (do not throw boots, you yourself constantly run). I take a look at the various oddities that I come across as I travel throughout the game world. I am able to tell that the temperature on the Phenom x4 9550 was 27 degrees when it was idle and 48 degrees when it was under load. On the i5 3570k, the temperatures were 39 degrees and 68 degrees respectively. IceHammer 4405 with a FLAT sole and a distributor. Cooler. This is with a thermal package rating of 95, which results in 69 watts (3570k does not deliver the advertised 77 watts). The fact that the power lowers to 7-9 watts while the load is at 1% (3570k) further contributes to the confusion.

Pros
  • In comparison to Sandy Bridge, the memory frequency limit has been raised to 1333 MHz, which is the most important improvement; also, you are able to use memory with a frequency of up to 3200 (provided that the motherboard permits it).
Cons
  • When compared to the first version Phenom x4 9550, the stone temperature has been increased by 10 degrees (again, in comparison to the core i5 2500k, as stated in the evaluations).
