Review on 800CBL5PN Electronic Surface Lighting Halogen by Staxy Asedr

The first thing that surprised me about this product was the brightness of the standard bulbs. I should have read the product description more carefully as the bulbs themselves are 20w each. However, we quickly replaced them with 50W LED bulbs, which only draw about 7W each, and this has greatly improved the output power, although even now I would have liked a little more light. Dimming is normal for 50 watt equivalent lamps. Some reviewers complain about various issues with LED bulbs, but we just don't see them. You may use the equivalent of 20 watts or get a lower quality bulb. We used dimmable bulbs in large boxes. One disappointing thing about LED bulbs is that they don't have the beautiful star pattern cast on the ceiling like halogen bulbs do. Installation was easy for the most part. I don't like the wall wart but ours is hidden so it's not a problem. But if your electrical box is in a prominent spot, you might want to consider another product that doesn't have that big wart on the wall. Some reviewers say the quality is lacking. I think if you compare them to $75 for each light and $300 for the driver ($675 total) then no, it's not that good. But you really have to be a few feet away from them to notice the difference. Ours is 8 feet off the ground and you just can't tell if we spent a lot of money on it or not. Especially when they are turned on. If someone wants to turn off the lightbulbs, get a stool, and poke us in the nose, then that's all the more energy for them. All in all we love them and plan on adding another set in another room.
